The Information Regulator (Regulator) invites organised professional bodies and public bodies to a Stakeholder Engagement Breakfast to discuss the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). The Regulator will unpack the importance of compliance with POPIA and PAIA and the role that can be played by professionals, civil society organisations, business and public institutions in promotion of the right to privacy as it relates to the protection of personal information, and the right of access to information. It is the responsibility of the Regulator to educate and consult with stakeholders on the implementation of these two laws. The engagement will give opportunity to the stakeholders to engage with the Regulator on the matters they are grappling with in relation to the implementation of, and compliance with these two pieces of legislation.

Please also note that in celebration of the Mandela Day which is celebrated globally on 18 July, the Regulator has also planned a series of events that will culminate the main event which is the public engagement scheduled for 20 July 2023 in Ehlanzeni District Municipality.
