About the event

The Information Regulator (Regulator), in collaboration with the Mopani District Municipality and Greater Giyani Local Municipality, will host a Community Engagement (Dikopano) as part of the Regulator’s Limpopo roadshow to promote and raise awareness of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), as well as to commemorate Human Rights Month. The Dikopano will provide the Regulator with an opportunity to interact directly with the Greater Giyani community and obtain their perspective on information rights (access to information and protection of personal information) from the perspective of data subjects or potential requestors of information.

The theme for this year’s Human Rights Month commemoration is “the need to the realisation of dignity and justice for everyone in South Africa, particularly those from disadvantaged communities”.
